Practices in the spring will typically begin a month prior to the opening day so for 2022 and most leagues, Opening day is May 2nd (Monday). Therefore, practices will officially begin (for most leagues) on or around April 1st, 2022.
Each Team will schedule their practice schedule at the coach's meetings and will schedule two practices a week. One weekday practice and one-weekend practice. The weekday practice will stop after the season-opening day and the weekend practices will continue through the end of the season with a few exceptions. (see below)
The practice time will be based on the number of teams and the field availability along with how much sunlight is expected. We do not turn on lights specifically for practice times. However, you can expect at least an hour of time on the field and 30 minutes in the batting tunnel.
Weekday times will usually be after 6:00 pm. Saturday practices will begin, usually, at 9:00 pm and go to dark, and Sunday we ask that you don't start until after 12:00pm. Again, you will schedule your practice times at the coach's meeting so it is important that you attend that meeting.
If you need to reschedule your practice time, this is workable just contact me and we will try to find a time that will work better.
The decision to practice or not practice is up to you in the case of rainy weather. We do ask that you take care of the field and not tear it up if it is too wet. There is a lot of work that can be done in the tunnel and in the grass.
