One of our most important goals concerning rosters is to have a balanced number of players on each roster in that particular division. The minimum number for each roster is 12 with a maximum of 13 although 14 has happened but, this is very rare and we try to avoid this unless the coaches and the parents agree.
In leagues where there the athletes are pitching (Junior and Higher) we also try to make sure all teams have an equal number of pitchers and catchers as possible. This can't always be controlled and is based on the number of pitchers and catchers that register.
The other area we work hard at is to balance the age of the players to make them comparable to each other team in the league. This will be a little more difficult with the new rule where we allow players to stay with their coach from the fall to the spring but we will work hard to make this as balanced as possible.
We use the Waiting List to control the numbers and will wait until we have increments of 12 or 13 before activating players from the waiting list.
Please note that the rules permit "requests" for teams, coaches or players only for the fall season and not for the spring season.
