A suspended game is a game that has started but was not completed for a variety of potential reasons but usually inclement weather.
It is the responsibility of the scorekeepers to record exactly where the game was suspended including the count in the hitter, the number of outs, runners on base, pitchers and etc. so when the game is resumed we know exactly where to continue. Please note that this is the responsibility of the home team but it is encouraged that the visiting team confirm with the home team.
Rules concerning the line up for the suspended games:
- The forfeit rule will apply to the suspended game.
- All players will hit in the same spot in the original spot in the lineup.
- The pitchers will continue to be the pitchers but they can be replaced through normal pitching rules.
- Players missing from the original game will just be skipped without an out.
- If there are any players on the team that was not on the lineup for the original game they may be subbed in a spot that is vacated.
- Players that were not on the lineup the original game can not play in the rescheduled game unless they are replacing a vacated spot on the roster.
- The pitching inning rule will apply to the rescheduled game but only those innings pitched in the reschedule game.
